The Fisherman’s Net Church is a non-denominational Bible-based Christ centered church of approximately 200 members with service beginning at 10am each Sunday morning. Our church is located in Utica just off Cass Avenue, with our ministry in Utica spanning almost 25 years. The Fisherman’s Net Church represents over 35 years of dedicated service to spreading God’s word in Southeast Michigan.

begin their spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.
We are in need of a youth pastor to minister to our young children and adolescent youth. Please see below for more details regarding this opportunity.
Youth Pastor Job Description
The intended purpose of a Youth Pastor at the Fisherman’s Net is to foster Godly fellowship among our children and young-adults while providing an opportunity for them to learn about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it applies to their lives on a personal level.
Below are qualifications and job responsibilities of a Youth Pastor serving at the Fisherman’s Net Church. Initially, this position requires 10-15 hours of weekly service with the hope that as the program develops, additional hours will be required to sustain the demand of a growing youth program:
Qualifications:
· Must have experience in this position at the internship level at the very least, or 1-3 year experience working with youth.
· Must have a love for children and communicate that, be approachable, and exude Godly character.
· Ability to delegate, and focus on overall goals of the ministry.
· Relate to the youth without becoming one, while staying relevant to their audience.
· Ability to groom youth to be spiritual adults able to handle adversities.
· Doctrinally sound with the Fisherman’s Net (please see our statement of faith and mission statement).
· Ability to understand that Godly principals/instruction starts at home; a ‘family first’ approach.
· Must be able to preach the Word without compromising for contemporary trends and philosophies, maintain a center on the Gospel that reveals the grace of God for salvation and sanctification.
· Must be able to integrate young adults into the full body of Christ, avoiding age ‘niche’ separation to assist them to develop identification with the entire congregation.
· Understand the pastoral role of preaching, teaching, and the administration of the sacraments: baptism and communion.
· Ability to promote spiritual giving, i.e.—outreach, visiting the sick.
· Must display leadership qualifications to lead and direct support functions such as worship, develop a volunteer support staff, and able to access outside resources for special needs such as missions, curriculum, and outreach.
· A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in biblical studies, seminary training and prior ministry experience is preferred
Job Duties:
· Engage, teach, and lead our children and young-adults toward Christ to build upon principals taught at the Fisherman’s Net.
· Create, implement, manage, and grow a youth program conducive to children and young-adults attending the Fisherman’s Net.
· Engage the surrounding community by creating awareness of the Fisherman’s Net youth group; also recruiting current youth group members to accomplish this goal.
· Design group meetings every Wednesday with the following format: worship/ preach from the Word/ response to the message/ fellowship time.
· When the opportunity presents itself, take the initiative to develop young leadership.
· Schedule or create events and programs that are gender-specific.
· Discuss life-application and relevant issues important to your audience while teaching how the Bible applies to these topics
· Provide a balance between fellowship and forge strong, Christian relationships-- (examples include but not limited to retreats, Bible camp, 1-day conferences in southeast Michigan, and/or Bible studies)
· Within a reasonable amount of time, foster opportunities for older kids to minister unto younger kids
· Participate in monthly update meetings with Board supervisor, as well as attend meetings with the Board of Directors on a bi-annual basis.

Summer Study
Greg Frezza is teaching the 1st Epistle of John in our Sanctuary beginning Tuesday, June 14, until July 19th. There will be no class on Tuesday, July 5th due to the holiday. The study will begin at 7:30. All are welcome to attend.
